Harry Salter Jr. Passing

It is with deep sadness that Huntingdon Regional Fire/Rescue announces the passing of life member Harry Salter Jr. Harry started his career in 1977 with the Huntingdon #3 (Hookies) Fire Company then to the #2 Fire Company and then moved his membership to the #1 Fire Company, (All three Huntingdon Fire Dept), and then in 2010 became a HRFR member and the first president of the Dept. Harry held multiple positions such as, Rescue Captain, Rescue Lieutenant, Treasurer and President.

Harry was also an EMT with Huntingdon Ambulance

Department 65 would like to keep Harry’s wife and Daughter in our thoughts and prayers.

Huntingdon Regional Fire & Rescue

This afternoon just before 1700 hrs Rescue and Squad 65 were dispatched with Company 10 for a motor vehicle accident on Point Road. Rescue 65 responded with 6 followed by the Squad with 5. The Rescue and Squad staged near Stone Bridge Hollow Road while Rescue 10 investigated. Command 10 then ordered the Rescue to standby at their station until they went available and the Squad to go available.

This evening members from HRFR assisted the Huntingdon Little League with clean up from recent flooding, the baseball fields and dugouts were underwater which washed up dirt and debris. Special Unit 65, Brush 65-1, Engine 65-1, Tanker 65-1 and Tanker 65-2 were all utilized. While returning to quarters Brush 65-1 assisted EMS 500 with a fall patient in Walker Township.
