At 08:24 hrs, Dept 65 and it’s mutual aid companies were dispatched to the area of 302 8th St (Huntingdon Borough) for a report of a possible building fire. Initial reports of smoke coming from the interior walls. TRk65 (Chief 65-5) arrived deploying crew to the 2nd floor apartment area for primary search and checks for extension as E10 crew made checks of the first floor. E65-1 (Chief 65-6) arrived deploying crew to basement area t ocheck for any signs of fire, then assisted E10 crew at first floor. After careful checks, a broken steam line was located beneath the first floor sending steam into the walls. Boiler was shut down to the building for repairs to be made. Call ended at )9:26 hrs.
At 14:06 hrs, SQ65 was dispatched assisting CO1, and CO10 for an extrication from a residence along Oak Dr. EMS on scene with a male fall pt in an attic of a residence with possible spinal injuries. SQ65 (Chief 65-6) arrived and assisted crews by setting up a “rack system” to lower pt by stokes basket and ground ladders after extrication from the residence. Pt turned back over to EMS without incident. Call ended at 14:52 hrs.
