This evening, members of the HRFR traveled to the Cambria County Fire School Training Facility to participate in a video shoot for the fire departments of the region who are the host of the SAFER Grant. The SAFER grant for recruitment and retention involves many fire departments throughout the region. HRFR members participated in fire operations, rescue operations, and other activities set up. HRFR members participated in a vehicle extrication of a tractor trailer truck, as well as assisting on a residential fire.
The SAFER Grant provides many options for new recruits as well as current certified members of the fire department. No recruits can gain assistance for school tuition, have training and certification paid for, receive gas cards, new personal protective equipment, and more.
